A romantic tiny-home, nestled in a hidden forest.
The Kama Cabin is a double-story tiny-home, specially designed for a beautiful spot at the heart of the Sima Kade valley - a hidden ridge that offers incredible views of our cliffs and the Magalies mountain. The ridge is capped by a red-ivory tree and looks over a small riverside forest. The cabin features a window-wall that slides out of sight, opening the house up to the bush-forest. The living room flows out to the fire-boma and the daybed, with an outside bath positioned on the edge looking onto the cliffs.
Built during the first lock-down, the Kama Cabin was the first cabin addition to Sima Kade. An experiment in prefabricated building, we constructed the majority of the structure off-site and towed it into place, taking about 2 months to complete. The cabin has the feel of a sailboat, with everything between the bedroom, kitchen and living area perfectly proportioned to save space. The Kama Cabin is designed for couples, but also has a couch/bed in the downstairs living/kitchen room. We always wanted to build on this site, but are glad to have taken our time to understand how the location changes through the different seasons.

The Kama Cabin is designed for 2 people - 1 double bed. The downstairs couch can serve as a single bed for a child. Bedding and bath towels provided based on number of persons. The cabin is not baby/child safe. Children over 12 are welcome.
The shower is outside and the cabin is located in a bush conservancy - there are animals and insects. They are happy for you to visit. If you are not happy for them to visit then consider alternative accommodations.

Self-catering does not include staff to clean dishes and the kitchen.
Massages & spa treatments can be arranged on request. We have partnered with a local mobile-spa to provide this service.
Fire-wood at the cabin can be pre-arranged with your booking.
Cell reception peaks at 4G in some spots, but can be unreliable. Wi-Fi is available at the Bush Camp, subject to heavy weather and the internet tower which can be down ocassionally.

Our Surroundings
The Sima Kade valley has a few good walks, or short hikes, along with a rock pool and mini-waterfall. The beauty of the valley lies in its secluded habitat of plants, animals and trees, enclosed by cliffs and a sloping valley that leads to the bubbling natural stream.
Magaliesburg has a variety of activities and adventures, from hikes, cycling/running trails, game drives, balloon rides, historical sites, markets, restaurants and breweries.
There is a decently stocked Super Spar (grocery store) in Magaliesburg town - 10 minutes away.
