A mixture between an Incan village and a modern, bush-veld glamping experience. A series of lawned terraces built on a shelf beneath majestic cliffs, overlooking the rest of the valley and the Magalies mountains.
Arriving at the Sima Kade valley, we were curious as to how we would build on land that had no level surfaces, until we came across a small clearing up one of the slopes. The clearing provided a great view of the valley and some level playing ground on which to create a big lawn for a variety of activities. Initially, we built the Sky Terrace for camping with an open-air kitchen, massive dining area and independent bathrooms. However, as we began to realise the potential of the location, the Sky Terrace grew into a village, much like its predecessor, the Bush Camp, but on a whole new level - closer to the 'Sky' as it were. In its current form the Sky Terrace has evolved into a unique venue for hosting events, gatherings, functions, retreats, groups and ceremonies.
A main lawn area is surrounded by stone amphitheatre-seating looking towards a covered stage structure. Another two terraced areas extend behind the stage connecting the large kitchen and dining areas to the right, with the bathrooms and showers to the left. Along the two back terraces are 7 repurposed, mobile, grain-silo bedroom-pods. Positioned on a lower terrace is a stone-tower with two beautiful bedrooms. The main lawn leads to the round, gathering "Butterfly Hall", with its wooden floors, wrap-round wall-top windows and 11 double doors. Further up the slope, towards the cliffs, is another terrace where there is a, farm-inspired, swimming pool and lawn, surrounded by majestic mountain views.
Silo-Capsules
Repurposed grain-silos turned into mobile bedroom-pods, with two beds (bunk-style) in each. A glamping concept completely unique to Sima Kade.
Butterfly Hall
A large round hall with a strong wooden floor and stone walls broken up by 11 double doors. The hall has a butterfly roof floating on wrap-around windows and a large fireplace.
Stone Towers
Tall rock structure perched on the slope with large glass windows and a butterfly roof. The tower has 2 en-suite bedrooms.

The Sky Terrace can only be booked by one group at a time and we require a minimum of 10 people for a booking. The terrace can accommodate groups of 16 - 18 people sharing rooms. There are 16 beds - with bedding provided. There are 9 bedrooms (7 capsules & 2 cabins) that can comfortably sleep 2 people per room (sharing). A gatherings hall that is an ideal space for hosting meditation, yoga, dance and drama workshops. The 2 bathrooms are located next to the capsules, with en-suite bathrooms in the 2 cabins. For overflow there is shaded camping space where tents can be pitched at a separate rate.

Services:
If required Sky Terrace bookings can include vegetarian catering for groups of 10 people or more. The menu will be designed according to your requirements. The meals will be delivered at your requested times. Please request the catering pricelist when making your booking enquiry. Catering does not include staff to clean the dishes.
Self-catering does not include staff to clean dishes and the kitchen.
Tents can be arranged for additional guests, please inquire for rates. Bringing your own tents? A camping fee still applies.
Massages & spa treatments can be arranged on request. We have partnered with a local mobile-spa to provide this service.
Fire-wood at the Sky Terrace can be pre-arranged with your booking.
Cell reception peaks at 4G in some spots, but can be unreliable. Wi-Fi is available at the Bush Camp, subject to heavy weather and the internet tower which can be down ocassionally.

Our Surroundings
The Sima Kade valley has a few good walks, or short hikes, along with a rock pool and mini-waterfall. The beauty of the valley lies in its secluded habitat of plants, animals and trees, enclosed by cliffs and a sloping valley that leads to the bubbling natural stream.
Magaliesburg has a variety of activities and adventures, from hikes, cycling/running trails, game drives, balloon rides, historical sites, markets, restaurants and breweries.
There is a decently stocked Super Spar (grocery store) in Magaliesburg town - 10 minutes away.
